Can’t say enough good things about my stay here. I’m traveling through the area I was looking for a picturesque southern stay and this is it!! So cozy, quiet, and clean! The owners were friendly and very responsive. My favorite part is the shared dining room and shared area giving a community feel. There is laundry and a kitchen on site making for a great place to stay long term as well! Highly recommended!:)

I was glad to have a safe spot to park my car and my room was extremely clean. I appreciated the little touches like how the shampoo and conditioner in my bathroom was actually nice quality. The bed was cozy and comfortable. This inn was so close to the airport. It was close to all of the things I wanted to see like the iconic Rainbow Row and the historic Magnolia Plantation. You can't beat this location.

Location was super convenient, close to the airport and easy enough access to all of the things there are to do in Charleston. The room was clean and cozy. Owners were attentive and responsive!

The Drift is less than a 10 min drive from the airport and downtown. There was a communal kitchenette and i didn't hear the other guests. I saw the cleaning lady's come twice during the day to clean the bathrooms that the rooms that didn't have suites used. Brittanie the host was incredibly responsive. Check in was a breeze. As a solo traveler I felt safe at The Drift even though the area is older.

I want the reader to know in advance that no, im not a robot or a paid reviewer, even though my opinion of The Drift is so high. I just believe in giving a good company their due when they surprise you with great quality, value and service. (Updated review, I've now stayed at the Drift at least 6 times for a total of at least 25 nights and stand by my previous review wholeheartedly) I've stayed at this property a couple of times already, and im heading back this weekend.  The first thing to mention is the level of service. This is not a 5 star hotel with 5 star pricing, but when you book with Brittany, you wouldn't know it. Brittany was not only attentive and responsive but very accommodating.  It's rare to be surprised by the friendliness and courtesy provided by a manager of a budget friendly hotel, but that's exactly what I found communicating with Brittany. Not only was the manager great but the rooms were very clean and comfortable, absolutely not what you would expect at the budget friendly level! When it comes to staying Charleston,  you'll be hard pressed to find a better value than The Drift. Also, a word of advice is to not misunderstand the descriptions online like I initially did. On some sites, it gives the impression that this is a hostelI, which it's not. All the rooms are private and there's basically two categories.  Budget friendly conventional rooms and extra budget friendly with private room that has a completely detached shared bathroom. I've stayed in both and was comfortable. The rooms are very clean, fresh linens, and the bathrooms are well equipped with shampoo,  conditioner, and body wash. The property also has a kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator.  Some rooms also come with mini fridge and conveniently each building has a washer and dryer indoors. The Drift is honestly the best bang for your buck in all of Charleston. My rating is definitely 5 out 5 based on cleanliness, service and a location.  The Drift is close to 2 of the main highways that will get you pretty much anywhere in 15 mins or less but not close enough to hear the highway traffic. If you're looking for a luxury hotel with restaurants and a pool this wouldn't be the place for you but if your looking for a great price for a clean, comfortable room that allows you to spend more of your traveling budget enjoying the city of Charleston, and less on amenities your probably not going to use, than The Drift is the smartest choice you can make. Happy Travels!

Clean and spacious room! Our room had lots of storage for clothes and a mini fridge. I rarely ran into any one else in the shared spaces and the kitchenette was really convenient. They had a pack n' play for our daughter as well. All in all, great stay!
